ESCALANTE MINE reverse 1982 stamp

The Ranchers Exploration and Development Co. was a mining company incorporated in 1954 and based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The company operated several mines, including the Escalante silver mine in southwestern Utah. In 1982, the Escalante Silver Mine was owned by Hecla Mining Co. and Redco Silver, Inc. The mine produced silver with general grades of 11 oz/ton Ag2. The mine is located in Iron County, Utah at an elevation of 5,285 feet. Ranchers Exploration took control of the Escalante property in 19752. Drilling and test mining began in 1979, and full mine development began in 19802. ​Financial World was an American magazine for investors that was published from 1902 to 1998. Initially a weekly publication, it later became a bi-weekly. In its later years, a prominent feature of the magazine was the "Sports Franchise Valuation Issue," prepared by Andrew Zimbalist, who later contributed to Forbes. Founded by Louis Guenther in Chicago, the magazine later moved to New York. It changed ownership in 1983 when Carl Lindner Jr. purchased it, and in 1995, it was sold to Barry Rupp, Steve Rupp, and Timothy Draper.
